SUBMISSION GUIDELINES AND POLICY
All submissions are subject to being edited for factual, spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors. We may ask you to verify facts or conclusions; we may make suggestions for improvements. In order to maintain textual integrity, authors will be consulted on issues involving content, tone, or other significant changes. All submissions must be sent as email attachments, in the body of an email, or delivered on disk. We prefer Microsoft Word files but can also accept text files. Please write your byline exactly as you wish it to appear in print: you may include your real or Craft name. Also include your full name, phone number, mailing address, and email address if you have one (this information will not be shared). Please become familiar with the different sections in the newsletter before submitting your work. You may submit your work to AQsubmissions@templeofara.org with the section to which you are submitting written in your subject line (example: "subject: Community Cauldron") or send to:

The Ara Quarterly
c/o The Temple of Ara
350 Third Ave. # 707
New York, NY 10010-2310

We reserve the right to reject submissions that are inappropriate in format, content, style, length, or authorship or because of space limitations.

In addition to our regular sections, the ARA QUARTERLY is always on the lookout for essays, articles, and editorials reflecting scholarship and expertise in a particular subject. If you have such a piece, or are such a person, please write to us at AQeditor@templeofara.org with your credentials and your ideas. We would love your help in developing our newsletter.

The following sections are our regular areas of the newsletter that are open to the general readership:

Community Cauldron
This section features any open letters, poems, stories, rituals, or columns submitted by the general readership. Submissions for this section should not exceed 2,000 words in length unless the piece was solicited for use as a serial. All submissions exceeding the word count should be queried first. Unfortunately we do not accept art submissions at this time.

Q & A
We often receive many emails and letters that ask the same questions. Due to time constraints, it is often difficult to respond to such correspondence individually. In this section of the newsletter, the Temple of Ara will respond openly to questions that we think reflect a general query from the community with the hope that the answers will be helpful to more than one person. Names and places may be changed to protect the identity of those writing or those written about. Letters may be excerpted or edited for brevity and clarity.

The Realm of Chaos
This section features random notes, news, and announcements from members of the Temple of Ara and its study groups. This is also where events that the Temple is not running but is participating in are showcased. Appropriate items for this section are: announcements of handfastings or births, Ara study groups or covens forming, etc. If you are unsure if your announcement or event is appropriate, please query first. Please send the following information as applicable: your name, the name of your group, the nature of your submission, and a contact number or email address. Items submitted for The Realm of Chaos that exceed 100 words will be deleted without consideration.

RIGHTS AND REPRINTS
Authors retain all rights to their work. However, we ask that authors notify us if their work has previously appeared elsewhere. We also ask that, once accepted for publication, authors do not submit the work in question to other publications until the issue of AQ in which their work is to appear has published. AQ is a community publication designed to inform the Temple of Ara community and to raise funds for the Temple's programs and operation; therefore, no remuneration is offered at this time. However, if your work is selected for publication, we will happily send you a complimentary copy of the issue in which your work appears.

SUBMISSION DEADLINES

Imbolc Issue-Submission deadline is December 1st.
Beltane Issue-Submission deadline is March 1st.
